Who We Are
With a full-scale, competitive marching band, four concert bands, three jazz ensembles, jazz combo, color guard, winter guard, and percussion program, the Paschal High School Band Program is a place for students to belong.
Every member of the Paschal High School Band Program is relied upon through their unique perspectives and individual abilities to further advance our band program’s goals, mission, and legacy.
Paschal Panther Marching Band
The Paschal HS Panther Marching Band is made up of students from all concerts bands, percussion, and color guard. The Panther Band has a long history of great traditions, pride, and excellence. The marching band performs at all Paschal HS pep rallies, Paschal HS varsity football games, marching band contests and exhibitions, and other events.
Concert Bands
The Paschal High School Band comprises four concert band ensembles: Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band I and Concert Band II. Every student who auditions for the Paschal High School Band will be placed in an ensemble. Ensemble placement is based on a series of criteria including the audition itself, participation in the All–Region and Solo and Ensemble Contests, participation in private lessons, and general conduct and character.
Jazz Ensembles & Combo
The Paschal Jazz Program has a rich history and exemplary record of success dating back to the 1960s. Under its current leader, Mr. Matthew Sawyer, the Jazz Program consists of three Jazz Ensembles and a Jazz Combo. Our Jazz Ensembles consistently attend jazz festivals across the nation and state and have had students earn spots in the Texas All-State Jazz Ensembles as recent as 2021.

Percussion
The Paschal Percussion Program offers percussion students a wide range of experiences to flourish not only as a group but as individual musicians. In the Fall, Paschal Percussionists participate in the Panther Band Drum Line either in the battery or the front ensemble. In the Spring, the percussion students are divided into smaller groups to participate as the percussion sections of each of the UIL competing concert bands. Paschal Percussionists also get the opportunity to compete in the TMEA All-State Band process and the UIL Texas Solo and Ensemble Contest, the Paschal HS musical, the Paschal HS Symphony Orchestra, and the Paschal Jazz Band and Jazz Combos. Additionally, Paschal Percussionists perform in ensembles made up entirely of percussion students including their assigned percussion ensembles, Percussion Orchestra, and Blacklight Ensemble.
Color Guard & Winter Guard
An important component of the Paschal Band Program is our Color Guard and Winter Guard. During the Fall semester, our Color Guard performs as an integral part of Panther Marching Band at every competition, game, pep rally, and other events. During the Spring semester, they operate as their own entity, known as the Winter Guard, competing at indoor competitions around the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Performers of the Color Guard and Winter Guard receive dance and movement training and learn to perform with equipment including flags, rifles, sabres, and poms.
