Jeremy DeWinter,
Director of Bands
Jeremy DeWinter is proud to serve as the Director of Bands at R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth, TX. At Paschal, Mr. DeWinter serves as a co-director of the Paschal Marching Band as well as the lead conductor of the Wind Ensemble and Jazz II Ensemble.
Most Recently, prior to arriving at Paschal, Mr. DeWinter served as the Associate Director of Bands at Reedy High School in the Frisco Independent School District. White at Reedy, his ensembles consistently earned sweepstakes ratings in UIL evaluations and the Reedy Marching band was a consistent Area Participant and Area Finalist. Prior to his tenure at Reedy, Mr. DeWinter served as the Director of Bands at Campbell High School in Cobb County, GA. While at Campbell he led the program through a period of tremendous growth and success with both the marching band and concert bands. Mr. DeWinter has also held previous positions as the Assistant Director of Bands at Permian High School in the Ector County ISD and as the Director of Bands at San Jacinto Jr. High School in the Midland ISD.
A native of Centerburg, Ohio, Mr. DeWinter received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Miami University of Ohio. While at Miami he studied Saxophone with Jeffery Powers, Jeremy Long, and Adam McCord. He has also had an intensive conducting study with Gary A. Speck. As both a saxophonist and vocalist, Mr. DeWinter has performed with the Miami University Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Men’s Glee Club. In 2008, he toured with the Miami Glee Club to China performing as part of the Beijing Olympic Festival. In 2019, Mr. DeWinter earned his Masters of Music Education at Florida State University. While at Florida State he studied conducting with Dr. Patrick Dunnigan, Richard Clary and Dr. Alex Jimenez.
Aside from working as a music educator, Mr. DeWinter has also spent time working with Music for All (formerly Bands of America). He has served that organization as a Private Consultant with the Marketing and Communications Department. He continues to work each year as site staff with the BOA Regional Championships and MFA National Concert Band Festival. Additionally, each summer he works as a Lead Instructor with the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy teaching student leaders across the United States. He has served as a member of the DMA staff since 2005.
Mr. DeWinter’s professional affiliations include TMEA, TBA, NAfME and GMEA. Additionally, he is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Delta Tau Delta. Mr. DeWinter and his wife Carrie, currently reside in Aubrey, TX with their fur babies Adeline, Scarlet and Pennie.
